While looking for an admin utility for Linux for my Airport Express, I found the AirPort Base Station Configurator, in Java! There’s a version for the AE, although it’s missing some configuration features.
I’m surprised there doesn’t seem to be something fully featured to admin this little marvel under Linux, since the utility I found is open source and dates back to more than one year… I’ll get in touch with its author and see if he considers updating it, perhaps a contribution may help 😀

Are you able to get it to see your AE?
Yes, it works nicely although with limited support. Most advanced options you find in Windows and Mac versions of the software are not implemented (like WPA and profiles).
You might want to update the link to:

I’m thinking about getting one of these for xmas, have you had it work under xmms? I’ve read about AmorK, and JustePort and Raop here (http://www.jroller.com/page/nwinkler?entry=amarok_and_the_airport_express)
but not sure which is better, have you tried the other ones?
Tx, just updated the linl,
No, in fact I have never used the music options in the AE.
